In 1991 the doors opened to the current Café 1505 space under the name La Boulangerie. In 1995 the original owner of East Towne Square Mall took over the restaurant and in 1999 the name officially changed to Café 1505. In 2007 the restaurant was sold to Bill Ledger with head chef Ken Kohls by his side. In 2018, the restaurant was then sold to long-time employee Alyssa Lugo. The reigns of the heart of the house were handed over to Chef Aubrey Preston. Over that time Café 1505 has become an influential and well known establishment in the Mequon and metro Milwaukee communities.
The story of Café 1505 really starts with the people that make it what it is every day. The attitude and energy permeates the community and touches the lives of tens of thousands of people each year. Our commitment to our mission of creating raving fans goes well beyond our four walls.
We focus on fresh, handmade, small batch cuisine that is unique and flavorful.
Each day our freshly baked breads, rolls, and pastries are delivered from local bakeries. Our coffee is locally roasted right here in Wisconsin. Additionally our produce is delivered each morning to be used that day, and during the season we visit farmers markets and our own Café 1505 gardens. Cheese, chocolate, greens, dairy, syrup, even our hand sanitizer is locally sourced. How lucky are we to be able to get all we need, right in our backyard!
We are proud to support local growers, farmers, bakers and producers within our community. Our recipes are uniquely Café, and we have great pride in both our food and service.
